The SOE Community at AERA 2025
The 2025 AERA Annual Meeting will be in Denver from April 23 – 27 The UCR School of Education will be well represented at this year’s American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting, including the introduction of SOE Professor Tara J. Yosso as a 2025 Fellow. The AERA Fellows Program honors scholars for their exceptional contributions to, and excellence in, education research. Below is a complete list of presentations, papers, and events at this year’s conference. Also, the University of California will host a UC Reception on Thursday, April 24, 7–9pm at the Hyatt Regency Denver

UC Riverside sees surge in college applicants
More prospective students sought admission to UC Riverside this school year than ever before. The number of applicants to be first-year students for fall 2025 surged by 23.2%, reaching a record 70,578, according to data released by the UC Office of the President. This increase from the year before follows previous records for applicants for the falls of 2024 and 2023, with 57,420 and 56,462 applicants, respectively.

UCR scholars honored by the White House for early career achievements
UCR professors Rachel Wu, Eunsoo Cho and Mahesh Raj Neupane have each received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, or PECASE, according to a recent announcement from The White House.
